Commemorates on: 17 of January Saint Anthony the Great is also known as Anthony of Egypt, Anthony of the Desert, and Father of All Monks. He was an Egyptian Christian Saint and the prominent leader among the Desert Fathers, who were Christian Monks in the Egyptian desert in the 3rd and 4th centuries AD. Saint Anthony lived in Alexandria for most of his life. The Orthodox Church celebrates his feast day on January 17. The Coptic Orthodox Church is historically associated with Saint Anthony and celebrates his feast day on January 30. |
